Going for Bladeless Lasik The IntraLase Method

"Bladeless Lasik" is becoming a popular term among people interested in LASIK and even eye doctors.
Well, what's the difference between this form of LASIK, more correctly known as the IntraLase Method, and one that uses a blade?
For that, you gotta see how the flap is being created.
You can access more resources here:
Traditional LASIK uses an instrument known as the microkeratome to cut the flap. Being a hand-held tool, it wasn't easy to be to attain depth accuracy and uniform flap thickness.
Nevertheless, overall results were positive.
Further research into LASIK led to the development of the Intralase Method, more commonly known as "bladeless Lasik".
In essence, this new method abolishes the neccessity for blade usage once and for all.
Using computer programming, a laser is programmed to send rapid pulses of light, a quadrillionth of a second each onto the cornea to create the flap.
The computer allows the surgeon to determine the exact size, shape, thickness etc of the flap, essentially customizing it to the patient.
Instead, this computer-controlled laser technology works by delivering rapid pulses of light, a quadrillionth of a second each, to a pre-programmed depth and position within the cornea.
This way, even patients who previously weren't eligible for the traditional LASIK can go for the IntraLase Method.
