Wear Ski Goggles
Protect Your Eyes with Safety Sports Eyewear

Ski Goggles are essential for skiing

Like all activities, skiing also has its own specific equipment.

Ski goggles also fall under this specific category.

This basically means that when you decided to go skiing, you need to first make sure you pick up the right eye-gear.

You can get yours here:

In ideal skiing conditions - snow, wind and sun can affect your visibility and the glare off the snow can seriously undermine your skills.

The best ski goggles are those that offer you most of the features described below:

  • A snug fit - they should fit as close as possible to your eyes and upper portion of your face. This not only protects your face and eyes, but also offers safety from the snow, wind etc, that might hinder you, owing to your speed. Snug fits also ensure that the snow doesn’t get in and interfere with your vision.

  • Good lenses - they need to have impact-resistant lenses; polycarbonate being the ideal material as it is light and heavy-duty. Lenses should also be anti-glare and tinted to suit your requirements and environment. Yellow hues are best as the block out the hazy blue shades and offer best contrast for skiing conditions. For night skiing though, clear lenses are the best.

  • Peripheral vision - ideally, they should offer you enough vision to the side so that you can avoid bumping into skiers around you. Wrap around styles work best here, but make sure they are also distortion free or it wouldn’t be of too much help.

  • Anti-fogging - these are to help your visibility in ski conditions. One major hindrance is fog. Double lenses that maintain the temperature of water vapour or other technology offer you anti-fogging on your ski goggles, making them all-weather suitable.

  • Other detachments - some models come with detachable temples and sides to help you turn your goggles into sunglasses or vice versa. These are good as they are multi-purpose. Some other versions also fit over your helmet and/or prescription eye-wear. This allows you to have perfect vision with the added ski goggles. Prescription lenses can also be fitted into your ski goggle lenses, after consultation with the eye care specialists and opticians.

Once you have your design and size in mind, just follow the guidelines mentioned above and you will have a pair that fit and suit you the best.
